Let’s Do It For Lucy

London’s netball community come together to raise money for beloved teammate who died of cancer at just 27

Let’s Do It For Lucy is coming to Broomfield Park this Saturday 17th February, to bring the North London Netball community together to celebrate the life of Lucy Nicholls.

Lucy played in North London netball leagues for years, for both Poly Netball Club and formerly Cumberland Netball Club. She was a breath of fresh air; a passionate, enthusiastic and bubbly member of the netball community. She also worked for England Netball as a Coaching Development Officer.

Lucy sadly passed away far too young after facing lymphoma with unimaginable bravery and relentless positivity. Now, netballers from all over north London are determined to remember her fantastic contribution to the game and celebrate the life of their wonderful teammate and friend.

The netball community are hosting Let’s Do It For Lucy to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Charity – at Lucy’s request. The event will take place around Saturday’s matches at the park and will include a raffle, a memory board and a 1-minute’s silence before matches begin.

Lucy was a passionate vegan, to celebrate her love of plant-based nutrition we will be hosting vegan food stalls in her honour.

We will be selling green ribbons to wear on the day, with all proceeds going to Lucy’s chosen charity. The aim is to raise money for cancer research treatments, and to ensure that Lucy’s legacy lives on through her netball friends.
