MESSAGE FROM SHEELAGH REDPATH – ENGLAND NETBALL……….
I am sure by now you have heard of the activities which are going to happen over Friday 12th February to Monday 15th February 2016 to celebrate 90 years of England Netball.To mark this momentous occasion, we are inviting the whole of our netball family to join us as we attempt to break a Guinness World Record for ‘Largest Netball Exhibition Match’ ever. We will descend on Whitechapel, London for a marathon 90 hour netball match at 12noon on Friday 12th February 2016 all the way through the last match at 6pm on Monday 15th February 2016. Matches will be played on an hourly basis and we are inviting all clubs interested in helping us to break the record, to sign up and get involved.Throughout the record attempt we will be hosting teams with some of the biggest names in netball’s past and present! One of our Honorary Life Members Mary French x England Coach, Player and Umpire will actually be 90 on the day after England Netball celebrates their 90th year so we are hoping that she and other Honorary Life Members will also be attending and taking part at some point over the weekendNow ……………… we all know that when a match goes on then we will need to the valued help of umpires (and possibly people to help keep the score etc.)So if you are keen to want to be part of this great event please see the attached schedule and complete the form and the time slots you would interested in being involved inThis is also being combined with the Charity Sport relief and teams have been asked to contribute with an entry fee which will go directly to the charity and because of this we are asking anyone ie umpires and volunteers who are who are able to participate to give of their time voluntarily (so no expenses can be paid on this occasion)PLEASE ALSO FORWARD THIS TO ANY UMPIRES YOU KNOW AND TO COUNTY AND UMPRIING SECRTARIES ETC PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL THE UMPIRES AND SCORERS IN YOUR COUNTY PLEASEEngland Netball is currently in negotiations with local hotels for favourable accommodation packages for anyone wishing to take part and can confirm that secure parking is available on site for those travelling by car/coach.For a list of Frequently Asked Questions, please head to the England Netball website.
